Arbor: More Than Just Wood

At ARBOR, we believe that providing integrated and complete solutions in the world of windows and doors is not just an added value, but a fundamental part of our company mission. Our expertise goes beyond the production of wooden frames: it extends to everything surrounding the window opening, through an approach that combines consulting, design, and implementation.

Every project begins with careful and personalized consultation. During this phase, we listen to the client’s needs, analyze the characteristics of the environment, and evaluate together the most suitable solutions, both technically and aesthetically. Our goal is to deliver a final result that is coherent, functional, and long-lasting.

Our offer includes not only wooden frames but also a range of accessories and components. Each of these is carefully designed to integrate harmoniously into the architectural context, enhancing living comfort and energy efficiency.

Another key aspect of our service is the coordination of installation, carried out by our qualified in-house team. This allows us to maintain high-quality standards even in the final stage of the project, ensuring precision, cleanliness, and adherence to agreed timelines.

Thanks to this approach, ARBOR is able to provide not just products, but truly tailor-made solutions designed to enhance every space with consistency, elegance, and durability. A single, reliable, and competent point of contact capable of overseeing every phase with the utmost care and professionalism.

Wooden Interior Doors: Style, Customization, and Craftsmanship Quality

In an interior design project, it’s not only the windows that define the character of a room: the choice of interior doors also plays a crucial role in shaping the space, enhancing its style, aesthetic appeal, and functionality.

Doors are not just passages between rooms—they become true design elements, capable of reflecting the personality of those who live there.
For this reason, at ARBOR we guide each client through a careful and thoughtful selection process, offering solutions that combine aesthetics, practicality, and long-lasting quality—without compromise.

From the various finishes to the wood species, from the choice of handles to optional details, every component is carefully selected to create a unique, tailor-made product for any room. Our interior doors are specifically designed to integrate seamlessly and harmoniously into the space, meeting both stylistic and functional needs, with extensive customization options.

ARBOR is also a woodworking workshop, which gives us deep knowledge of wood in all its nuances. This allows us not only to work the material but also to shape it precisely, respecting its natural characteristics and enhancing its uniqueness.

Each of our doors is crafted with meticulous care, using only selected materials and techniques refined over more than 60 years of experience, ensuring consistent quality, reliability, and durability.

Our service also includes professional installation, carried out with expert precision, guaranteeing the perfect functionality and longevity of the product in its intended environment.

With ARBOR, every interior door becomes a defining element of the space: a combination of artisanal tradition, technical innovation, and attention to detail, creating rooms that convey character and uniqueness.

Wooden Frames: More Maintenance Than PVC or Aluminum?

gli infissi in legno richiedono più manutenzione di alluminio e pvc?

It’s time to address a hot topic in the construction world: the maintenance of window and door frames. We’ve all heard the phrase “wooden frames require maintenance.”

The Truth About Frame Maintenance

The truth is that every building material needs care. There’s no such thing as a window or door that never needs cleaning, maintenance, adjustments, or targeted interventions on certain components—whether it’s made of PVC, wood, or aluminum.
All materials are subject to wear over time and weather conditions. Some may require regular cleaning or lubrication, others may need aesthetic touch-ups or functional upgrades.
Wood, being a natural material, has a unique aesthetic evolution that sets it apart from the rest.

i serramenti in legno richiedono davvero più manutenzione di alluminio e pvc?

Wood: A Material with a Soul

Wood starts from a seed, grows into a tree, and is then harvested (typically with a very light color). After that, it goes through several seasoning phases during which it takes on different shades—often yellowish or reddish—before being finished with a coating based on the customer’s preferences.
Today’s finishing processes ensure excellent protection and durability, without compromising the wood’s natural beauty. A well-made, properly finished wooden frame requires no special maintenance, just regular cleaning.
If and when the finish deteriorates—for example, due to mechanical impacts on the wood’s surface—the exposed area may continue its natural aging process, gradually turning grey.
Think of the mountain lodges in Trentino-Alto Adige, completely clad in wood, built over 50 years ago and still strong and functional. The greying of untreated, weather-exposed wood is not a flaw but rather a testament to its natural essence.

At ARBOR, we’ve always worked with wood, understanding all its characteristics. Our wooden frames are made to last, and when—after decades—a small intervention becomes necessary, they can be restored to like-new condition with targeted maintenance.
This way, our frames are ready to offer many more years of beauty, warmth, and comfort.

Wood as a Conscious, Long-Term Choice

Choosing wooden window and door frames means embracing a living material—one that evolves, regenerates, and transforms over time without ever losing its unmistakable charm.
With years of experience in the field, ARBOR offers tailored advice to meet every need, making your wooden frame not just a beautiful feature but a conscious, solid, and lasting choice.

The Right Wood for Every Application: Ipé

learn about ARBOR's latest project: a veranda with an ipé wood floor

Ipé is an exotic wood known for its incredible hardness and density—qualities that make it virtually indestructible. However, precisely because of these characteristics, it is not suitable for the production of window and door frames: its processing requires specific tools and techniques, and the material reacts very rigidly to the stresses typical of these elements.

Being a carpenter also means knowing the characteristics of each type of wood and being able to propose the best solution to the client based on their needs.
That’s why we chose ipé for the construction of a seafront terrace on Elba Island.

An Elegant and Indestructible Terrace, with a Spruce Heart

For the Villa Felciaio project, we installed ipé boards measuring 20×90 mm, laid on adjustable “Minimart” supports by Impertek, which are ideal for creating a safe and stable structure. This was then mounted on a sandwich structure made of spruce wood, reinforced with Polymax Italia insulating mats to reduce vibrations and provide acoustic insulation from the veranda below.
The result is a timeless terrace that combines natural aesthetics, durability, and comfort.

A Perfect Project Always Requires an Excellent Team

This project was the outcome of a virtuous collaboration between suppliers, the designer, and the end client.
The client envisioned a terrace that would “touch the sea with their eyes,” acting as a bridge between the indoor and outdoor spaces. The designer developed a solution that would, on one hand, deliver the natural look and linearity requested by the client and, on the other hand, ensure the structural load-bearing capacity, vibration isolation for the veranda below, and long-term maintainability.
At ARBOR, we recommended the best wood—ipé—which, even without varnishing treatments, resists wear and weathering over time. We brought together a team of top-quality wood suppliers, insulation material specialists, and fastening system experts to ensure excellence throughout the construction phase.
Together, we shaped a unique and exclusive project. Teamwork and the humility to acknowledge that we can always learn something new or better from others are two of our core values—and they were crucial in this project, allowing us to offer the best possible solution.

If you’re planning to build wooden outdoor structures and have a project in mind, contact us. At ARBOR, we’re ready to take on the challenge, study the best solution, and deliver high-quality results.

Oak Wood: Prestige and Versatility in the World of Timber

When it comes to premium woods, oak holds a place of honor.
This variety of hardwood oak is particularly dense and compact, with a medium texture, straight grain, very few knots, and a prominent decorative pattern. These qualities make it one of the most prized materials for those seeking elegant, long-lasting wooden fixtures and furnishings with strong visual impact.

Over the centuries, oak wood has been used in countless applications: from wine-aging barrels to fine furniture, from solid wood flooring to boiserie and decorative beams.
Its ability to combine strength with refinement makes it ideal for creating oak window frames suited to both traditional and contemporary settings.

Oak Windows: Elegance, Strength, and Durability

Oak window frames deliver outstanding performance on every level. Their natural resistance to moisture, excellent dimensional stability, and long lifespan make oak the perfect choice for those unwilling to compromise.

Moreover, the wood’s natural grain allows for fully customized finishes.
As is well known, wood is a living material—and oak proves this through its evolving aesthetic over time, which enhances its charm even further.
When stained with a natural finish, oak reveals warm tones reminiscent of hay, and at times subtle specks or darker threads may emerge. This is due to tannin, a naturally occurring substance abundant in oak, which also protects the wood from fungal attacks and decay.

The ARBOR Offering: Oak Wood for True Connoisseurs

For years, ARBOR has been working with oak with expertise and passion, crafting made-to-measure windows and doors for those who seek products that combine functionality, design, and artisanal value.
Our oak frames are more than just technical elements—they are true interior design features.

Chestnut Wood: An Italian Treasure Waiting to Be Rediscovered

Among the most valued hardwoods in Italy for strength and beauty, chestnut holds a special place—though it remains lesser known compared to other woods used in window and door frames. Yet it is a noble, exceptionally durable material that deserves renewed attention.

Chestnut wood is especially prized for its long-lasting performance and natural resistance to weather, moisture, pests, and even fire. These properties make it ideal for windows, doors, and frames, even in demanding climatic conditions.

A Sustainable, All-Italian Choice

Italy is Europe’s leading producer of chestnut wood, with forests stretching along the Apennines and throughout the mountainous regions of Central and Southern Italy.

Using chestnut for window and door frames means choosing a renewable, short-supply-chain material—supporting environmental sustainability and helping to preserve Italy’s forest heritage.

While still relatively uncommon in the world of frames, laminated chestnut wood offers outstanding performance. Its warm, elegant grain and strong, resilient structure make it a perfect fit for any setting, adding both aesthetic value and functional reliability to any architectural project.

Larch: The Wood of Venice, a Symbol of Strength and Beauty

Larch has long been considered one of the finest woods in construction, thanks to its exceptional natural properties. Compact, durable, and resilient, larch is especially valued for its high resistance to moisture. It’s no coincidence that it was chosen to support many of the foundational structures of Venice—one of the most fascinating and architecturally complex cities in the world.

From the piles beneath historic buildings to wooden doors, bridges, and window frames, larch wood is a defining element of Venetian identity. Its ability to withstand the harshest environmental conditions makes it an ideal material for high-performance wooden windows and frames.

Laminated Larch: A Premium Choice for Windows and Doors

The laminated larch used by ARBOR comes primarily from Siberian forests. This resinous variety, with its warm, vibrant tones, enhances any space—whether finished naturally or with stained treatments.

Thanks to its laminated structure, larch reaches even higher levels of stability and strength, making it perfect for crafting top-quality wooden frames, particularly in refined architectural settings.

Spruce Wood: A Timeless, Sustainable, and Exceptionally Versatile Material

Spruce is widely known for its iconic role during the holiday season, but its qualities go far beyond decorative symbolism. Spruce wood is a natural, versatile material that has been valued for centuries thanks to its excellent technical characteristics. Its structure makes it easy to work with—lightweight yet strong, elastic, and durable. It’s no coincidence that spruce is one of the most commonly used woods in the construction industry, particularly in the production of wooden windows and doors.

legno d'abete

Why Choose Spruce Wood Windows

Spruce is carefully selected from the moment of felling: only the finest trunks are used to create high-quality products. These, precisely processed, become solid, high-performing wooden windows built to last.
One of the main advantages of spruce wood fixtures is thermal insulation. In fact, spruce boasts the lowest thermal conductivity value among wood species. This translates—given the same glass unit, profile, and surface area—into better window performance and lower energy consumption for heating and cooling the building throughout the year.

Fine Finishes and Sustainability

Spruce wood is also ideal for high-end finishes, both lacquered and stained, making it perfectly adaptable to any architectural style—classic, rustic, or modern. Each window can be customized to match the building’s interior decor and exterior design.

From an environmental perspective, choosing locally sourced wooden windows is an ethical and conscious decision. Spruce grows abundantly in the Alps and the Apennines, making a short supply chain possible, which reduces emissions related to transportation. This helps support the local economy and promotes a more sustainable, eco-friendly production of wooden fixtures.

ARBOR: Craftsmanship and Tailored Advice

Choosing ARBOR spruce wood windows means investing in quality, durability, and environmental responsibility. Each of our products is crafted using selected materials and advanced technologies to ensure maximum performance and design value.

Renewing with Respect: The Contrà Soarda Project

restauro del b&b contrà soarda

Imposing palaces, ancient farmhouses, churches steeped in history, and timeless castles: these elements make Italy a true open-air museum, a country where every stone, every structure, every architectural detail tells a unique and unrepeatable story. These are traces of a past that continues to live in the present, silent witnesses of distant eras and traditions that shape our landscape.

Intervening on these buildings, preserving their essence while adapting them to modern needs, is a challenge that requires great sensitivity, an attentive ear, and profound respect for the context. Every renewing is a blend of past, present, and future, of memory and innovation. Finding the right balance between aesthetics and functionality is an art that demands care, respect, and expertise. The real challenge is to integrate technologically advanced solutions without disrupting the harmony and charm of these places, preserving the magical, historic, and lived atmosphere that makes them unique and irreplaceable.

restauro del b&b contrà soarda

Our Concrete Contribution to this Renewing Project

With this vision in mind, ARBOR is proud to have contributed to the renovation project of an ancient farmhouse in Contrà Soarda, in Bassano del Grappa, Province of Vicenza. This intervention represented an important opportunity to demonstrate how tradition and innovation can coexist in perfect harmony, enhancing an architectural context rich in historical and cultural significance.

Regarding the external window frames, the goal of the architect and the client was to maximize the entry of natural light into all rooms, creating brighter and more welcoming spaces without compromising thermal insulation performance. The choice fell on our ZENIT model windows, crafted from light walnut-stained varnished larch wood, a solution that ensures excellent thermal and acoustic insulation. Thanks also to the internal insulation of the existing masonry, the result was a substantial improvement in the building’s energy efficiency, all while preserving its architectural style and highlighting its natural beauty.

For the interior fittings, natural oak doors with a minimalist design were chosen, perfectly combining modernity and tradition. They respect the historic soul of the place while adding a contemporary touch. Each door represents the perfect balance between design and craftsmanship, enhancing the natural beauty of the wood and giving the spaces an authentic character.

Through this project, ARBOR once again reaffirms its mission: to unite beauty, functionality, and respect for historical heritage, creating solutions that not only enrich the spaces but also preserve their soul and memory for future generations.
