FSC® Certification: A Concrete Commitment to Sustainability

The FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) certification is an international, independent, and non-profit certification system for the forestry sector and forest-derived products.
This certificate ensures that the materials used to create products come from responsibly managed forests, adhering to strict environmental, social, and economic standards.

What Does It Mean for a Company to Obtain FSC® Chain of Custody Certification?

Obtaining FSC® certification guarantees transparency, accountability, and sustainability throughout the product’s journey — from material harvesting to the final consumer.
When a customer purchases an FSC®-certified wood product, like those made by ARBOR, they are assured that the wood comes from forests where ecosystems are maintained, conserved, and/or restored.
This represents an important value from both an environmental and ethical perspective.

An Added Value for Customers and the Environment

The FSC® certification also ensures that the workforce employed in forest management is regularized, valued, and protected according to current laws.
It is a fundamental element in promoting decent and safe working conditions within the forestry sector.
Moreover, the certification guarantees that indigenous peoples living in forests are protected and respected. Their social and economic well-being is at the heart of the sustainable forest management practices promoted by FSC® standards.

The Historic Mussolente’s Town Hall: Wood as a Bridge Between Past, Present, and Future

arbor legno realizzazioni: comune di mussolente

In the heart of Vicenza province, in the town of Mussolente, stands the historic municipal building, originally constructed in 1907. Today, thanks to a renovation project by DIDONÈ COMACCHIO ARCHITECTS, the structure has been given new life—meeting modern seismic safety standards and reimagined for cultural and public use.

The revitalized building of Mussolente’s Town Hall now hosts a prestigious exhibition dedicated to local arts and crafts, as well as a multipurpose hall on the second floor designed for events and community gatherings.

This project is a shining example of how local architectural heritage can be enhanced through a careful balance of innovation, functionality, and tradition.

Wooden Frames: Energy Efficiency with Historical Consistency

For the interior and exterior windows and doors, architects Paolo Didoné and Devvy Comacchio opted for solutions that merge aesthetic appeal with high energy performance.
Custom-made laminated spruce wood frames and entrance doors were installed to improve the building’s thermal insulation. At the same time, the original internal doors and exterior shutters were meticulously restored to preserve their authenticity.
This approach allowed the project to maintain the building’s historic identity, while integrating state-of-the-art window and door technologies.

ARBOR’s Role: Craftsmanship in the Service of Architecture

We at ARBOR are proud to have contributed to this important renovation by crafting the custom wooden windows and doors. The use of laminated spruce, combined with our artisanal expertise, enabled us to support a transformation where design, engineering, and cultural value coexist in harmony.
The balance between history and modernity in Mussolente’s Town Hall is what makes this project truly unique. Wood—noble, versatile, and sustainable—proved to be the perfect material to connect past and future. Being part of this journey has been a great source of pride for our team.
